Founder of Amati Law awarded MBE.

We are honoured to announce that James Mews  MBE has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the community. Through his work with the Jersey-based charity Music in Action Mr. Mews has played a pivotal role in using music to support mental health, education, and cultural enrichment across the island. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding the charity’s reach and impact, bringing world-class musical experiences to schools, care homes, and public spaces, and helping foster wellbeing through the arts.

In addition to his charitable work, James has long been a dedicated member of the legal profession, known for his integrity, thoughtfulness, and deep commitment to public service. “It’s a real honour to receive this recognition,” he said. “I share it with the incredible team at Music in Action and the wider community who make this work so meaningful.” This award not only celebrates his contribution to the cultural life of Jersey but also underscores the vital role that legal professionals can play in supporting and uplifting their communities beyond the courtroom. We extend our warmest congratulations to James Mews MBE on this richly deserved honour.
